King's finishes second at state tournament | Boys prep basketball

The King's boys basketball finished the season second in the 1A state tournament on Saturday night. The Knights lost 52-46 to Zillah in the state championship game at the Sun Dome in Yakima.

King's led 13-12 after one quarter, and both teams were tied at 25 points at halftime.

In the second half, Zillah started to pull away, outscoring the Knights 12-8 in the third quarter and 15-13 in the fourth to earn the win.

Calvin Kispert scored a team high of 10 points, while Noah Bundrant added nine points and David Barhanovich scored eight. Corey Kispert scored seven points, Brett Jones added five, with Jacob Storkson scoring three. JOsh Alexander and Dnaiel Fouty each scored two points.

The Knights finished the second in second place in the state and had a season record of 25-3 after winning both the league, district and Tri-District titles.
