King's beats South Whidbey 35-14 | Prep football

The King's football team earned a 35-14 league win over South Whidbey on Friday, Sept. 27.

South Whidbey scored first, but King's Chris Yand followed suit with a 4-yard touchdown run to even the score 7-7 at the end of the first.

Ryan Fransen scored off a 24-yard pass from quarterback Koa Wilkens in the second quarter, followed by Wilkins scoring one of his own off a 9-yard run. The Knights led 21-7 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Yand scored off a 49-yard run from Falcons territory, which was followed by the Falcon's second touchdown of the night.

Fransen scored the final touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter, a 19-yard pass from Wilkins to end the game.

Wilkins thre for 144 yards, while Fransen had six receptions for 96 yards during the game. Yand added 16 carries during the match for 147 yard, while Zach Jacobson posted seven tackles for the team.

King's is 2-0 in league this season and 3-1 overall. The Knights will play Sultan on Friday, Oct. 4 in a 7 p.m. home game.
