King's beats Eatonville, finish fifth in Tri-District tournament | Prep football
The King's football team beat Eatonville 20-12 on Friday, Nov. 8 to finish the 1A Tri-District tournament in fifth place.
The Knights earned the final district seed into the 1A state tournament, which begins next weekend.
Against Eatonville, neither team scored in the first quarter, but King's Koa Wilkins hit the mark after a 4-yard run early in the second. The Knights followed it with a safety, and a touchdown by JOrdan Turner after he caught a 33-yard pass from Wilkins.
King's led 16-0 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Eatonville's Wyatt Coleman scored after returning a kick 36-yards, but Wilkins increased King's lead with an 8-yard touchdown run.
After three quarters, the Knights led 22-6.
Wilkins scored the Kinghts only points of the fourth quarter, this time making a 13-yard run. Eatonville's George Tomal scored after a 2-yard run, but it wasn't enough to overtake King's.
The Knights will begin the 1A state tournament as the No. 5 seed from District 1/3 and will play the top team from District 6/7 on either Friday or Saturday Nov. 15 or Nov. 16.
