Kamiak beats Edmonds-Woodway | Girls prep swimming
The Kamiak girls swimming team beat Edmonds-Woodway on Tuesday, Oct. 15 in a 4A league meet. The Knights won 101-69 during a dual meet at the Lynnwood Pool with Jackson and Mountlake Terrace.
Kamiak’s Laura Johnson, Ingrid Straume, Angeline Dovinh and Haley Lasley won the 200 medley relay race in 1:59.29, while Straume went on to win the 200 freestyle race in 2:05.82.
Edmonds-Woodway’s Luci Brock won the 200 individual medley race in 2:16.34. Djenne Dickens won the 50 freestyle for the Warriors in 24.97 seconds. Edmonds-Woodway’s Josie McCloughan won the 100 butterfly race in 1:06.87, while Dickens earned the 100 freestyle crown with a time of 56.14.
Brock won the 500 freestyle race in 5:35.93, while Kamiak’s Straume, Lasley, Bailey Kindle won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:52.27.
Edmonds-Woodway’s Juliana Epoch won the 100 backstroke race in 1:10.56, while Straume earned the 100 breaststroke title for the Knights in 1:14.01.
Kamiak’s Dovinh, Johnson, Rosanna Holod and Lyndsey Willis won the 400 freestyle race in 2:55.99.
Edmonds-Woodway will compete against Mount Vernon on Thursday, Oct. 17 at Lynnwood Pool at 2:45 p.m. Kamiak will compete against Mariner on Tuesday, Oct. 22 in a 3:15 p.m. at Kamiak.
