Ignorance of science is not bliss

I’ve had all of John Pierre and Steven Keeler that I can take!

Do either of these guys know a lick of science?

Mr. Keeler decries the environmentalist’s religion, and Mr. Pierre throws out a hodgepodge of old and long outdated ideas, but I’m glad that someone like Gov. Inslee takes note of the scientific evidence of the damage of coal power and global warming (to name just two current concerns) and takes action.

As the global evidence from satellites, computers, and climatologists mounts, it’s difficult to understand how any intelligent person can deny the profound human effect of global warming.

Without human action, we’d be in a mini-ice age right now.  Instead, CO2 levels are higher than they’ve been for 20 million years!

Extreme weather, arctic vortexes, ocean acidification, and warming temperatures will all have profound effects on all life on planet earth for decades, even centuries.

I’m glad that our governor, and all three of our state representatives, takes this issue more seriously and intelligently than either Keeler or Pierre.

Ignorance is never bliss, and in this case it’s downright tragic.
