Human trafficking to be topic

State Sen. Jean Kohl-Welles, an international expert on the subject of sex trafficking and sponsor of recently passed legislation on the subject, will be the featured speaker for a public meeting on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Beginning at 10:30 a.m., the event will be held at Edmonds Community College, Snohomish Hall, Room 304-A and B, 20000 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood.

Co-sponsored by the Snohomish County League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women, the meeting will focus on “Human Trafficking in Washington: From the Historic Mercer Maids to Sexual Exploitation in Internet Ads.”

This is an opportunity to participate in a conversation about historical, cultural and public policy aspects of human trafficking.
