How ’bout dem Seahawks?!

By John Pierre | Sep 12, 2013

I am quite aware that everyone on this planet is not necessarily as enamored with NFL football as am I.   Sorry 'bout you that aren't interested.  You are missing a great feeling as our Seattle Seahawks are hitting on all eight cylinders.

Under the tutelage of Pete Carroll who, with such a fantastic coaching record with USC, our youngish team is become a force to be reckoned with in the National Football League.

Players such as make up our offensive and defensive lines are the backbone of our Seahawks’ many successes since Carroll took over as head coach almost four years ago.

This guy is fully involved with his players and whatever is the current game.  He masticates gum like it's the last stick on the planet... probably to settle his nervous reaction to what's happening on the field of play.  Hopefully, he closes his mouth while chewing under normal circumstances.

Pete is largely responsible for bringing players such as our brilliant QB Russell Wilson and his equally capable backup, Tarvaris Jackson, into the realm of being listed among the more highly regarded in the entire professional football empire.

Others who are showing great promise (again with apologies to our fantastic front lines) are Christine (how's that for a macho man's name?) Michael, Marshawn Lynch, Golden Tate and Robert Turbin.

Those are only the names that immediately come to mind... many of their outstanding teammates are what keep them in the ranks of those whose possibilities include bigger and better things.

Unlike some of the TV and media football prognosticators, I shall not talk about the team's probability of appearing in the next Super Bowl.  Methinks that can be a potential jinx that could easily make them the targets of other up-and-coming teams.

It is sufficient to say that our Seattle Seahawks are holding the hot hand for the moment.  Regardless of what happens in this 2013-2014 season, their future is bright.

I don't hold a season ticket because I can't afford it nor do I feel good about buying 2 or 4 tickets to a single game... it costs an arm and a leg, and I have neither to spare.

Frequently during each game around my son's house you can hear "Hook 'Em Hawks!"  All I can add is... where's my Bud Lite?
