Honoring military members on the 4th of July

There will be a special reserved seating area for military families for the evening concert and fireworks show at the stadium.

Organizers tell the Beacon they are particularly focusing on service members from the last ten years in the Global War on Terrorism campaigns.  It is particularly to honor those who served in the recent campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq and other locations where the Global War on Terrorism is being waged.- Ed.

 

The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, the VFW Post 8870, and the American Legion Post 66 want to honor you for your service and sacrifices by inviting you and your family to participate in patriotic fun and fireworks on the 4th of July in Edmonds.

Veterans will march at the head of the annual 4th of July Parade which starts at noon.

Following the parade will be a barbecue for veterans and their families at Shelter #2 in the Edmonds City Park on 3rd Ave. S, from 1 to 3 p.m.,, serving all-you-can-eat hamburgers and hot dogs.

Spend the afternoon visiting the many fine shops and businesses in downtown Edmonds, many offering discounts to military members.

Relax and play with the kids on one of many beaches.

Have dinner in one of the many fine restaurants in Edmonds.
