Hit and run ends in fatality

Police need the public’s help in finding what appears to be a silver colored Lexus with significant front-end damage, including a broken windshield.

Lynnwood Police are investigating a fatality hit and run after an adult male pedestrian was hit by a vehicle just after 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 9 while crossing the street in the 17200 block of Highway 99 in Lynnwood.

Witnesses reported that the driver hit the man while driving south bound on Highway 99 then did a U-turn and took off going northbound.

Police need the public’s help in finding what appears to be a silver colored Lexus with significant front-end damage, including a broken windshield.

The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries. He died a short while after at the hospital.

All lanes, both north and south bound, from 168th to 176th Streets of Highway 99 were closed for more than 3 hours during the investigation.
