Courtesy of: Edmonds Historic Museum This photo of Allen Yost's 1912 Cadillac Touring Car, taken at the intersection of Fifth and Maple, is one of many historic images featured in the 2013 Edmonds Historic Calendar. George Yost is in the front seat. His wife Nita is behind the wheel. Eban Bartlett stands on the running board. In the back seat (L to R) are Alice Bacon, Victor Hansen, Oscar Bailey and Effie Bacon. The dirt road in the background is Maple Street. Note the absence of starting crank. Cadillac introduced the electric starter, and at the time trumpeted it's products as "the cars without a crank." The Caddy was Allen Yost's second car.  He first one was a 1911 E-M-F Roadster, which was also the first car in Edmonds. These cars were notoriously unreliable, leading owners to joke that EMF actually stood for "every morning fix it."

The much-awaited Edmonds Historic Calendar goes on sale this week.

You can download your order form at the City of Edmonds Historic Preservation Commission web page, http://www.edmondswa.gov/government/boards-and-commissions/commissions/historic-preservation-commission.html.

Submission instructions are on the form.

If you'd rather order in person, stop by the table in front of the Edmonds Chamber office, just across from the Log Cabin on Fifth Avenue, during this week's Third Thursday Art Walk.

"Lots of people have been asking about the calendar, and we anticipate they'll go quickly," said Larry Vogel, chair of the Edmonds Historic Preservation Commission. "To help make sure everyone who wants a calendar can get one, we've added a downloadable order form and email address."

Calendars cost $5 each. If you order before Dec. 6 you'll receive a $.50 discount, lowering your cost to $4.50.

The calendars look great on your wall, make wonderful gifts, and are a bargain.
