Go Pink Day raises awareness at Brighton SchoolStudents and staff chose to Go Pink to raise awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The Leadership Team of Brighton School in Lynnwood (pre-school through 8th grade) sponsors a Spirit Day once a month.
"We really wanted our first school spirit day to raise awareness for Breast Cancer because it is so common and affects people everywhere." said Casey McCarthy, co-president of Brighton School Student Council.
So they did something that would show everyone their support for breast cancer awareness.
On Oct. 26, students and staff chose to Go Pink to raise awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness month.
"Breast cancer doesn't just affect adult women; it affects families and kids, too," said Sierra Noble, co-president of Brighton School Student Council. "Creating Go Pink Day at our school made me feel like I could actually do something to help and not just stand back and say, 'I'm just a kid so I can't have a positive impact.’"
