Gerald Raymond Santwire: 1939-2017
Jerry Santwire died peacefully on March 24, 2017. He was born Sept. 2, 1939, to Avanelle and Raymond Santwire in Waubun, Minnesota. After graduating from Ballard High School (1958) he joined the Air Force. Jerry graduated from the University of Washington in business administration.
After graduation, Jerry worked as supervisor of the computer support group at The Bon Marche; he then was the manufacturing support co-coordinator at Pacific Car & Foundry. Later, Jerry became an associate broker in real estate in the greater Edmonds area, where he consistently was one of the top 10 salespeople.
He retired and moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he hiked the surrounding mountain ranges, walked the desert daily and played golf and the game he loved, tennis. Jerry was an avid sports fan: Go Seahawks!
Jerry developed Lewy body dementia/Alzheimer’s, so he and his wife moved back to family in Edmonds.
He is survived by his wife Ardis, son Ryan Santwire (Carolina) and stepchildren Renee Jones (Tim) and Sean Pielow (Carissa); and seven grandchildren, Emma and Gavin Pielow, Ethan, Esmee, and Willa Jones, Nyah Bradley, Lucca Santwire and Sister Marge Olson (Dan).
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mona McCann, and daughter Renee Bradley.
The family will celebrate Jerry's life privately.
