Raised planter boxes are one way to add veggies to your front garden.

Edmonds in Bloom is encouraging gardeners to enter their fruit and veggie gardens in the garden competition.

In the 2012 competition a new category recognizes the efforts of gardeners who have incorporated fruits and vegetables in their front garden.

Entry forms are available on line at www.edmondsinbloom.com.  Or entrants can pick up forms at  the Frances Anderson Center, the library, Bountiful Home, Garden Gear and the Log Cabin.

Businesses, homes, apartments in Edmonds and Woodway are all eligible  to enter their  gardens which need to be visible from the street or alley.

Mail or drop off entry forms to the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main Street, Edmonds.  The deadline is July 3, which will be here before you know it.
