Fire Sirens

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 753 calls Nov. 15-28: 592 emergency medical aid calls, 70 motor vehicle collisions, 35 fires, 21 service calls, 7 natural gas leaks and 28 automatic fire alarms.

 

November 15

CAR FIRE:  At 12:23 p.m., firefighters responded to a car fire in the 7500 block of 212th Street SW in Edmonds.

 

December 16

COLLISION:  At 8:05 a.m., a car flipped on its side near the intersection of 128th Street SE and Elgin Way north of Mill Creek. The occupants had to remain in the car until it was stabilized by firefighters.  No one was injured.

 

COLLISION:  At 4:12 p.m., a three-car collision was reported on northbound I-5 just south of the 220th Street SW exit in Mountlake Terrace.  Firefighters transported two patients to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

 

COLLISION:  At 4:55 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a collision in the 22100 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds.

 

November 17

CHIMNEY FIRE:  At 9:18 a.m., firefighters extinguished a chimney fire at a home in the 23900 block of 113th Place W in Woodway and cleared smoke from the house.

 

COLLISION:  At 11:40 a.m., a vehicle left the road and struck a power pole near the intersection of 134th Street SE and 54th Avenue SE east of Everett. Firefighters transported the injured driver to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

 

COLLISION:  At 2:26 p.m., a three-car collision was reported at the corner of 144th Place SE and Cathcart Way east of Mill Creek.  Firefighters transported three patients to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

 

OILY RAGS START FIRE:  At 11:57 p.m., firefighters responded to a small fire started by spontaneous combustion of oily rags at a house in the 5800 block of 236th Street SW in Mountlake Terrace. The fire did not extend to the structure and firefighters used large fans to clear smoke from the house.

 

November 18

COLLISION:  At 11:54 a.m., a five-car collision was reported at 124th Street SW and 4th Avenue W south of Everett. Firefighters transported three patients to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

 

DUMPSTER FIRE:  At 9:16 p.m., firefighters extinguished a Dumpster fire in the 800 block of 112th Street SW south of Everett.

 

DUMPSTER FIRE:  At 10:25 p.m., firefighters extinguished a Dumpster fire in the 100 block of 164th Street SE north of Bothell.

 

November 19

COLLISION:  At 8:58 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a one-car collision on northbound I-5 near the 220th Street SW exit.

 

COLLISION:  At 4:22 p.m., a Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office patrol car pursuing a suspect flipped and came to rest upside down against a tree in the 200 block of 120th St. SE south of Everett. The officer was trapped inside. Firefighters used power equipment to free the officer from the wreckage. Paramedics transported the injured deputy to Harborview Medical Center.

 

COLLISION:  At 8:40 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a car in the 1900 block of 208th Street SW east of Lynnwood.  Firefighters transported the injured pedestrian to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

 

November 20

COLLISION:  At 12:30 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a two-car collision in the 1800 block of Filbert Road east of Lynnwood.

 

COLLISION:  At 12:39 p.m., a one-car collision occurred at the corner of Highway 99 and Manor Way south of Everett. Firefighters transported the injured driver to Swedish/Mill Creek Emergency Room.

 

November 22

COLLISION:  At 8:09 a.m., firefighters responded to a one-car rollover collision in the block of 16900 Alder Way north of Lynnwood.  The injured driver managed to climb out of the overturned vehicle and was transported by firefighters to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

 

COLLISION:  At 11:19 a.m., a motorcycle tipped over and the rider was struck by another vehicle in the 21220 block of Larch Way east of Lynnwood.  Firefighters transported the seriously injured motorcyclist to Harborview Medical Center.

 

November 24

COLLISION:  At 2:19 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital after responding to a two-car collision in the 22900 block of 106th Avenue W in Edmonds.

 

November 26

COLLISION:  At 6:10 a.m., a car struck a pedestrian in a crosswalk at the corner of 112th Street SW and 4th Avenue W south of Everett. Firefighters transported the pedestrian to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.

 

COLLISION:  At 6:49 a.m., a three-car collision was reported in the 24100 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

 

November 27

COLLISION:  At 2:34 p.m., a collision involving four cars and two semi-trucks was reported on southbound I-5 north of the 244th Street SW exit. Firefighters transported two patients to Harborview Medical Center.

 

COLLISION:  At 4:45 p.m., a car struck a pedestrian at the corner of 76th Avenue W and Highway 99 in Edmonds. Firefighters transported the pedestrian to Harborview Medical Center.

 

DUMPSTER FIRE:  At 8:22 p.m., firefighters extinguished a Dumpster fire in the 600 block of Center Road south of Everett. Firefighters believe the fire was started by discarded fire wood.

 

November 28

HEATER FIRE:  At 4:34 p.m., an electrical problem with a space heater sparked a fire that caused more than $7,500 damage to a house in the 19300 block of 2nd Avenue SE north of Bothell.  One resident was home at the time of the fire and exited safely.  Firefighters put out the fire in 20 minutes and contained the flames to one bedroom on the second floor.

 

Fire District 1 is the largest provider of fire and emergency medical services in Snohomish County, with full-time staffing at 12 fire stations. The department serves nearly  200,000 residents in unincorporated south Snohomish County, Brier, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace and Woodway.
