Farmers Market opens June 4 at Lighthouse Park
The Mukilteo Farmers Market is set to open next week for the 2014 season.
This year, the market’s first day will be Wednesday, June 4 from 3-7 p.m. at Lighthouse Park.
Shop for a variety of locally grown produce, from fresh vegetables and fruit to flowers, as well as locally produced wine, dairy, chips and salsa, breads, granola, hamburger, donuts, kettlekorn, toffee, ice cream and more.
Most of last year’s vendors will be returning, and there will be the addition of some great new vendors.
There will also be artisan booths with arts and crafts, such as herbs and herbal products, wood crafts, plants, jewelry, hats, bags and candles for sale.
Please note: These are all small, local businesses that need community support or they will not be returning to the Mukilteo market.
In addition, the market will again have a donation can for the Mukilteo Food Bank. Last year, $141 was collected to benefit the food bank. There will also be a collection to recycle batteries. Bring your used batteries to the market to be properly disposed.
Due to the huge success of last years battery recycle program, the market will be collecting used batteries again. Bring your used batteries to the market and they will be properly disposed.
Each week, the market will host a non-profit organization at a booth.
This year's line up includes: Mukilteo's Police Department, Mukilteo Community Garden, Snohomish County Master Gardeners, Heifer International and more.
The market operates Wednesdays from 3-7 p.m. through Sept. 24 at Lighthouse Park, at 609 Front Street in Mukilteo.
A free shuttle to and from the market will be available at the corner of 3rd and Lincoln, next to Rosehill Community Center. For more information, go to www.mukilteofarmersmarket.org.
