Exhibit to feature glass pumpkins

Sep 12, 2013

It’s that time of year when harvest activities begin and holiday shopping gets serious.

It’s also time for those two things to combine in a uniquely Northwest event — the 2013 Northwest Glass Pumpkin Patch tour presented by the Tacoma Glassblowing Studio.

The annual tour will feature more than 2,000 hand-blown glass pumpkins created by local artists and displayed at different locations, including Edmonds, throughout the region.

This year’s events will be held on eight consecutive Saturdays in September and October according to Jeannine Sigafoos, who along with her husband Mark, are owners of Tacoma Glassblowing Studios — the sponsor of the tour.

“Visitors to the event will see a wide variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and prices starting as low as $35,” Jeannine said.

“Each pumpkin patch looks like a real pumpkin patch - and you’ll see some of the largest glass pumpkins ever shown.”

The exhibit will be at the Edmonds Conference Center on Saturday, Sept. 14. Admission is free.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of the pumpkins will be donated to children’s charities.
