EvCC students perform ‘The Seagull’ Nov. 21-23 and Dec. 5-7
Everett Community College students will perform a postmodern version of the Russian classic “The Seagull,” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21-23 and Dec. 5-7 in EvCC’s Baker Hall, Room 120.
The drama, written by Anton Chekhov, is the story of unrequited love at a lakeside residence in the Russian countryside.
Famous actress Irina Arkadina has recently taken up with a well-known writer, Boris Trigorin, and brings him to her brother Peter Sorin’s country estate for a holiday.
Trigorin's presence causes great distress to Irina's oft-neglected son Konstantin, a would-be playwright.
The play, first produced in 1896, is the playwright’s best known and most loved production.
The cast includes: Cheyenne Hoza, Daniel Lund, Dylan Hussey, Kathleen Lawson, Jason Mckendry, Jesse Tilley, Lissa Mosiej, Megan Brewer, Robert Ireland, Nichols Eveland, Nate Couch, Le Ahn Tu and Katelynn Horn.
The play is directed by EvCC theatre instructor Beth Peterson. Production staff include Alex Hills, Jodee Kreitel, Noah Holland and Sharon Gibson.
Admission is by donation. The play is open to the public, except children age 5 and younger. For more information, call 425-388-9525.
