The space formerly occupied by Garden Gate at 407 Main St. may not be vacant long.

Nikolai Kulakevich, proprietor of Crema de la Crema in Mountlake Terrace, was in Edmonds on Tuesday, May 2, inspecting the space where he plans to open a pastry café.

It could open in mid-June, pending permitting approval.

Kulakevich said Ganache Patisserie and Cafe will have a large selection of pastries, baked goods, cakes and croissants, all with a European focus.

According to Kulakevich, Fonte Coffee, a rising star in the Seattle fine coffee scene, will also be available.

According to the city of Edmonds, all baking would be done offsite.
