Edmonds-Woodway wins two straight, plays Saturday for state berth | Prep volleyball
The Edmonds-Woodway girls volleyball team won two straight matches on Thursday, Nov. 7 in the 4A Wesco district tournament for another shot at the state tournament.
The Warriors will face Bothell on Saturday, Nov. 9 in a loser-out, winner to state game.
On Thursday, Edmonds-Woodway won two loser out games, beating Monroe 3-1, followed by a 3-0 win over Jackson.
Against Monroe, the Warriors won 25-22, 18-25, 25-18, 25-20.
Rebecca Sharp had 50 assists in the match, while Sid Eck had 20 kills with 4.5 blocks. Mikenna Vogel had 12 kills, Amanda Paavola posted 10 kills and Julia Hutchison added 16 digs.
Two hours later, the Warriors beat Jackson 25-17, 25-19, 25-22.
Sharp had 38 assists, while Paavola had 15 kills and Eck posted 11 kils, four blocks and nine digs. Vogel added eight kills and Hanna Rehnfeldt posted 21 digs.
Edmonds-Woodway is 13-4 this season. The Warriors will play Bothell on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. at Edmonds-Woodway High School in a loser-out, winner to state game.
The 4A state tournament will begin on Nov. 15 at St. Martin’s University and Timberline High School.
