Edmonds-Woodway survives Cascade, beats Bruins by one | Boys prep basketball
The Edmonds-Woodway boys basketball team earned it's third league win on Saturday, Jan. 4, beating Cascade by one point. The final score was 54-53 for the Warriors.
Cascade led 14-8 after one quarter of play, but Edmonds-Woodway bounced back to outscore the Bruins 16-7 in the second to lead 24-21 at halftime.
Cascade tried to retake the lead in the second half, scoring 15 points to the Warriors 14 in the third and 17-16 in the fourth, but Edmonds-Woodway held on to win the match.
Edmonds-Woodway's Travis Bakken scored 18 points during the win, with teammate Jason Smarr scoring 15 points. Theo Lebesis added eight points, Jordan Rice scored six and Brady Edwards added five. Tate Budnick scored two points during the win.
The Warriors, now 3-1 in league and 4-5 overall, will play Arlington on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7:15 p.m.
