After a strong first week showing by the Edmonds-Woodway football team, the Warriors were back in action on Friday night, this time shutting out Mountlake Terrace. The final score was 35-0.

Junior Opoku-Mensa scored the first Warrior points of the evening on a 22-yard run in the first quarter. Ebrima Fatty kicked a solid extra point and Edmonds-Woodway led 7-0 at the end of the first, while holding Mountlake Terrace scoreless.

In the second quarter, Scott Myricks caught a long 41-yard pass from Davis Giles, followed by another good kick, to give the Warriors a 14-0 halftime lead.

The second half started off with Opoku-Mensa making a 6-yard run to score in the third quarter, which he followed up later with the exact same play, giving Edmonds-Woodway 14 points in the third.

Tyler Rheinford scored his only touchdown of the night off a 32-yard interception late in the fourth quarter.

The Warriors will host Meadowdale in a non-conference Edmonds showdown on Friday, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. at Edmonds Stadium.
