Edmonds-Woodway runners have strong showing at Nike Pre-Nationals | Prep cross country

Five runners from the Edmonds-Woodway cross country teams traveled to Portland over the weekend to take part in the Nike Pre-National race. The event features some of the top high school and middle school runners in both Oregon and Washington.

The boys team finished in 21st place, while the girls team took 18th overall.

In the boys 5,000 meter race, junior Miler Haller finished in second place with a time of 17:03, while Benjamin Yang was 72nd overall in 18:27.

In the girls race, senior Hailey Kettel finished in seventh place with a time of 20:07, while Hayley Tengs finished in 50th place with a time of 21:35. Kathryn Haldeman earned 72nd place with a time of 21:56.

The Warriors will race in the seventh annual Twilight Invite on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville.
