Edmonds-Woodway, Meadowdale compete at Edmonds District championships | Prep cross country

The Edmonds-Woodway and Meadowdale cross country teams competed in the annual Edmonds District championships on Thursday, Oct. 17 at Lynndale Park.

The Edmonds-Woodway boys team finished in second place with 43 points, while Meadowdale's boys were third with 59 points.

In the girls race, the Warriors were third with 45 points an the Mavericks were fourth with 103 points.

Individually in the boys race, Edmonds-Woodway's Miler Haller was first with a time of 14:46. Teammate Benjamin Yang was seventh in 15:46, Elliott Harrison was ninth in 15:55, Sam McCloughan was 11th in 15:56, Noushyar Eslami was 15th in 16:26 and Jonah Cortezzo was 18th in 16:33.

For Meadowdale, Dominic Giordano was third in 15:23, Chikodi Ezeokeke was 10th in 15:56, Brian Primm was 12th in 16:04, Josh Verzola was 14th in 16:22, Michael Fishman was 22nd in 16:59, Max Fell was 24th in 17:11 and Jonah Grier was 32nd in 18:33.

In the girls race, Edmonds-Woodway's Hailey Kettel was second in 17:22, while Kathryn Haldeman was eighth in 18:35. Hayley Tens was 10th in 18:58, Susan Kim was 11th in 19:52, while Svetlana Alabyeva was 14th in 20:19. Isabel Callen was 15th for the Warriors in 20:35 and Megan Kelle yaws 19th in 20:48.

For Meadowdale, Alexandria Chang was 13th in 20:19, while Megan Fridge was 20th in 20:58. Amelia Ball was 21st in 21:13, Megan Hoppe was 24th in 22:04, Hyangsook Kwak was 25th for the Mavericks in 22:05, Emilie Mathiason was 26th in 22:08 and Malia Dagdag was 29th in 22:34.

Both teams will participate in the Wesco championships on Saturday, Oct. 26 at South Whidbey High School.
