Edmonds-Woodway loses to Arlington by one | Girls prep basketball

The Edmonds-Woodway girls lost a heart breaker on Thursday, Jan. 9, losing to non-league opponent Arlington by one point. The final score was 49-48.

Undefeated Arlington trailed to the Warriors 15-13 after one quarter, and Edmonds-Woodway extended the lead to 27-22 at halftime.

Edmonds-Woodway fended off the Eagles in the third quarter, but Arlington came within one point of the Warriors, making it 38-37 at the end of the third. Arlington scored 12 points in the fourth, while holding Edmonds-Woodway to 10 to remained perfect this season.

Moni Jackson scored 13 points for the Warriors, while Syndey Peterson added 10 points. Sidney Eck scored seven points, Maddy Burdett scored six, Natalie Kasper added five points, as did teammate Claire Fyfe and Maddy Nealey scored two points.

The Warriors are now 4-2 in league and 8-3 overall. The team will host Snohomish on Monday, Jan. 13 at 7:15 p.m.
