Edmonds-Woodway boys third, girls second at Lake Stevens meet | Prep cross country

The Edmonds-Woodway boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Lake Stevens on Thursday, Sept. 26 for a meet against the Vikings and Shorecrest.

The boys took third with 57 points, while the Warriors girls finished in second place with 40 points.

Individually, junior Miler Haller won the boys race for Edmonds-Woodway with a time of 17:08.2, while Benjamin Yang was 11th in 17:57, Biniam Tesfaghaber was 16th in 18:26, Noushyar Eslami was 17th in 18:27, Jonah Cortezzo was 18th in 18:28, Sam McCloughan was 19th in 18:29. Anindo Khan was 21st in 18:48, Alexis Reyes was 23rd overall in 19;14, followed by Alan Song in 24th place in 19:41.

In the girls race, Hailey Kettel finished in second place with a time of 20:18.

Kathryn Haldeman was fifth in 21:15, Hayley Tengs was sixth in 21:16, Susan Kiim was 16th in 22:47, Svetlana Alabyeva was 19th in 23:02 and Megan Kelley was 21st in 23:20.

The Warriors will travel to Portland this weekend for the annual Nike Pre-Nationals race.
