Edmonds-Woodway beats Stanwood by four points | Boys prep swimming

The Edmonds-Woodway boys swimming team beat Stanwood by four points on Thursday, Jan. 9. The final score was 87-83 for the Warriors.

The Warriors started the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay race with the team of Brandon Chen, Alex Nguyenle, Max Takacs and Corbin Lee. The team won in 1:56.12.

Nguyenle went on to win the 200 freestyle race in 1:59.81 and the 100 breaststroke race in 1:07.22.

Takacs earned a win in the 200 individual medley race in 2:21.73, followed by a win in the 100 butterfly race in 1:02.48. Joel Hashimoto won the 500 freestyle event in 6:19.03.

The Warriors team of Takacs, Lee, Hashimoto and Nguyenle won the 400 freestyle race in 3:49.34 to end the meet.

Edmonds-Woodway, now 3-2 this season, will compete against Shorewood at the Shoreline Pool on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 3:30 p.m.
