Edmonds-Woodway beats Lynnwood, advances to 7-0 | Prep football

The Edmonds-Woodway football team earned a league win over Lynnwood on Friday, Oct. 18, beating the Royal 35-7. The Warriors are now 7-0 this season.

Edmonds-Woodway scored once in the first quarter, when Junior Opoku-Mensah scored off a 20-yard run.

Opoku-Mensah added another touchdown, the first of two in the second quarter, off a 9-yard run, followed by the final points of the half when he scored off a 1-yard run.

The Warriors led 21-0 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Theo Lebesis scored after catching a 23-yard pass from quarterback Davis Giles. Edmonds-Woodway led 28-0 going into the final quarter.

Lynnwood's only points of the evening were scored by Hunter Lord, who make a two-yard run to the end zone, but Edmonds-Woodway responded with another touchdown, this time when Giles connected a 28-yard pass to Scott Myricks.

The Warriors will play at Mariner on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at Goddard in the final game of the regular season.
