Edmonds UPS store to host book drive at grand openingWe are in the business of saving people time, and with shipping prices direct from UPS, we can save them money as well
The new Edmonds UPS Store®, located at 10016 Edmonds Way, will host its grand opening celebration on May 3, at 4:30 p.m. – everyone is welcome to attend.
Among the activities planned for the event are a ribbon cutting with the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Dave Earling, hors d’oeuvres, contests with prizes, and a book drive, benefiting Seattle area children who do not have access to books.
The UPS Store is collecting books and monetary donations for the Toys for Tots Literacy Program through the end of May.
One-hundred percent of the proceeds donated locally benefit children in our area. With summer coming, now is a great time to encourage students to keep up their reading skills even while school is out.
Bring new, unwrapped children and teen books to The UPS Store; you can also donate money for books to be purchased.
“As a one-stop shop for shipping, postal, printing and business services, we look forward to serving the Edmonds community,” Nicholas Clark, owner of The UPS Store, said. “We are thankful for the warm welcome we have received and want to give back to the community. The Toys for Tots Literacy Program is a wonderful chance to do that.”
The Grand Opening promises to be a fun event; contests include Guess the Weight and Guess the Number of Peanuts with prizes like 1,000 color business cards, a 2’ by 3’ color poster and a $25 shipping gift certificate.
Tour the store and see what they offer, meet the staff and center owner. The ribbon cutting will take place at 4:45 p.m.; contest winners will be announced at 5, 5:30, and 6 p.m.
The UPS Store network is the exclusive sponsor of the Toys for Tots Literacy Program.
Since launching the program in 2008, it has raised more than $2.3 million to help deliver hundreds of thousands of books to less-fortunate children across the country.
