Edmonds resident graduates from West Point
Andrew Berry Gregg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gregg of Edmonds graduated on May 25, from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Gregg requested and was selected to serve in the Army’s Infantry branch and he is now headed to Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Gregg has been selected to join the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, which he will do after attending Ranger School.
While at West Point, Gregg served as Battalion Executive Officer and as a Sandhurst Competition Squad Leader.
His senior year capstone project was on Autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and his team won first place for their presentation in the Department of Systems Engineering.
The mission of the U.S. Military Academy is to educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the nation as an officer in the United States Army.
