Edmonds Police arrest 4 in burglary, driver escapes

Edmonds Police responded to a burglary in progress in the 7900 block of 191st St. SW, Edmonds, at approximately 7:55 p.m., on April 9,

An alert neighbor observed at least two suspicious subjects entering the victim’s residence.  Prior to police arrival, the suspects fled the area in a silver sedan.

An officer arriving in the area located the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle in the area of 182nd St. SW and 88th Ave. W.  The driver ran away on foot and the other four male occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody.

A K9 track for the driver of the suspect vehicle lasted approximately 2 ½ hours and included the assistance of the King County helicopter, Guardian One.  The suspect driver was not located.

The suspect vehicle was impounded to the Edmonds Police Department pending a search warrant.

Three of the four subjects contacted are from the Bellevue area and range in age from 16-18 and a fourth is a 19-year-old male from Lynnwood.

Two of the detained individuals were booked on residential burglary charges; a juvenile was booked into the Denny Youth Center and an adult was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.

The Edmonds Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating and identifying the driver who fled.  He is described as a black male, late teen’s to early 20’s approximately 5’8” last seen wearing red shorts and a white tank top and black jacket.
