Pictured, left to right (behind the Kiwanis sign) are: Yuki Inamine, Kohei Kotsuka, Susan Henry, John Jacobson, Scott Phariss, Frank Suhara, Clayne Leitner, Michelle Martin (President, Edmonds Petanque Club), Dick Van Hollebeke, Maura Parkhurst, Debbie Goff, and Mary Lee.  In front of the sign are Miki Shoji and Yuna Takahashi.

Quite by accident, the members of the Edmonds Petanque Club shared the Civic Playfield on Saturday, June 8, with participants in the First Annual Bike Rodeo put on jointly by the Edmonds Kiwanis and the Dale Turner Family YMCA.

Over forty enthusiastic volunteers offered numerous events and games for children of all age groupings.

The purpose of the Bike Rodeo was to raise awareness of bike safety, as well as to generate donations to purchase  bike helmets for kids.

While playing petanque near the Bike Rodeo, the Edmonds Petanque Club players were so impressed with the spirit of the event that they, as a club, decided to support this worthy effort with a check for $100 from the club, and additional contributions from individual players.
