Edmonds Petanque Club donates proceeds from tournament to food bank
The Edmonds Petanque Club’s Food Bank Tournament raised more than $5,000 for the Edmonds Food Bank this year.
The championship rounds were played on the groomed courts near Sixth Avenue. Players came from around the area, but it was mostly Edmonds players that were the winners. Tom Nunn and Forest Herlein took first place and were followed by Bob and Dennine Warnock, and Mike Martin and Stephan LeRoy
On Sept. 20, Dick Van Hollebeke and Michelle Martin were able to give a check to Allison Cook, Director of the Edmonds Food Bank. The total gift of money and food exceeded $5,000. Over five years the Edmonds Petanque Club has been able to give the Edmonds Food Bank $23,500.
