Edmonds jazz choirs honored at festival | School brief

Courtesy of: Edmonds School District The Meadowdale Middle School jazz choir, led by Kathy Miller, recently finished in first place in their division at Jazz Unlimited, put on by Colubmia Basin College.

Several jazz choirs from the Edmonds School District recently traveled to Columbia Basin College for the annual Jazz Unlimited festival.

The festival, put on by the music department at Colubmia Basin College, includes over 4,500 student performers from Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

Meadowdale Middle School's jazz choir earned first place in their division and outstanding vocal department. The group is led by Kathy Miller.

Meadowdale High School's jazz choirs, led by Jeff Horenstein, earned the departmental award and best rhythm section award. Meadowdale Impressions earned second place in their division.

Edmonds-Woodway High School's Mello Aires, led by Charlotte Reese, finished in first place in their division.
