Edmonds is 'All Jazzed Up'

We have very serious students and superb teachers who have elevated jazz understanding to a whole new level

We are all in for a real treat this weekend! The Jazz Connection, on Saturday, May 25, has become a traditional showcase for youth and music in Edmonds and this year’s event is shaping-up to be spectacular.

Sponsored by the Edmonds Daybreakers Rotary Club, this event ushers in summer and a host of other events like the Waterfront Festival, the Edmonds Arts Festival, “An Edmonds Kind of 4th”, and “A Taste of Edmonds”.

When I taught the Jazz Ensemble at Shoreline Community College (about a thousand years ago) I was able to recruit fine players from the local high schools; the difference now is the talent pool is richer and deeper.

We have very serious students and superb teachers who have elevated jazz understanding to a whole new level. The students have truly learned to "swing" and the Jazz Connection is your opportunity to see their great talent first hand.

So enjoy the show, peruse our many quality shops, dine at one of our wonderful restaurants, and be sure to come back and enjoy our amazing community all year round!
