Drunk driver crashes twice
A 40-year-old male Edmonds resident was involved in two alcohol and/or drug related collisions Wednesday evening.
At about 6:50 p.m., Edmonds Police units were dispatched to a two-car collision in the area of 210th St SW and 74th Ave W.
Prior to the police arriving the driver causing the collision fled the scene, driving his car north from the area.
One of the officers sent to the scene was the nighttime Edmonds PD traffic officer. He recognized the description of the vehicle as belonging to someone he had contact with before.
As the officers continued their investigation at the scene witnesses to a recklessly driven vehicle at 198th St SW and 80th Ave W called 9-1-1.
That vehicle was then involved in a single car collision going through a yard and then rolling over.
The driver was transported to Harborview Medical Center with undetermined injuries. No one else was injured in either of the collisions other than the driver.
Alcohol or drugs are believed to be factor. The investigation is continuing with multiple charges expected.
