Discord on the porch | Letter
Interesting article, mayor (“The front porch,” Guest View, March 2).
Your recent Beacon editorial about “sitting on the front porch” and “talking with your neighbors” struck a chord. We are now witnessing a level of political, environmental and interpersonal discord that is disturbing, to say the least.
While I have very strong feelings about many of these issues, the one issue that concerns me the most is how people are relating to one another. Politically and individually, people are becoming more and more polarized, intolerant and unwilling to compromise, or even listen to others.
This cannot be a good thing for us a community, or for our political system.
