Cops stop pot shop

Nov 15, 2013

On Thursday, Nov. 14, City of Edmonds code ordinance enforcement officials along with Edmonds Police Department officers, served a notice on a local business to cease operation.

The business, “Green Rush Collective 2,” was operating as a marijuana dispensary without a business license.

The business at 23125 Hwy. 99 had apparently been operating since Nov. 8 without the required license.

As soon as City officials were made aware of this violation, immediate steps were taken to contact the business and require them to immediately cease operation.

The City has had a moratorium on marijuana dispensaries while waiting for legal issues and requirements to be decided in court and the state legislature.

The City has a zero tolerance policy as it relates to the moratorium on businesses that choose to operate in defiance of this moratorium.

The moratorium was enacted on Aug.20, 2013, to address these specific issues.
