Community benefits from ‘A Taste of Edmonds’ | Letter
Editor, The Beacon:
The conclusion of the 32nd annual “A Taste of Edmonds” has brought with it another successful year.
The “Taste” continues to draw record crowds over the 3-day festival with an estimated 75,000 people.
The success of the “Taste” ensures that the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce is able to continue to give back to the Edmonds community.
Local non-profit organizations and community groups receive over $16,000 in support from the “Taste of Edmonds.”
These groups rely on the funds to support their efforts, and the Chamber is able to produce other community events with funds we raise.
Without the “Taste of Edmonds,” we would not be able to produce “An Edmonds Kind of 4th,” the “Edmonds Classic Car Show,” “Candidates Forum,” “Edmonds Trick-or-Treat Night,” or the tree lighting ceremony and the upcoming 2015 Edmonds Home, Garden and Design Show.
These events are put on for the benefit of the whole community, and have helped to shape the fabric of Edmonds.
All tips received in both the Beer and Wine Garden directly benefit the Edmonds Boys & Girls Club; this year we broke the record.
Just over $6,600 was collected for the Boys & Girls Club, beating last years record by $600.
The Greater Edmonds Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the volunteer committee who helps to produce the Taste of Edmonds, the sponsors for their generous support, the vendors for coming out to display their crafts and foods and the community for their support.
See you in 2015 at the 33rd annual A Taste of Edmonds!
