A reader brought to my attention that an article I wrote in the Oct. 10 edition of the Beacon, titled “Council drives knife into Harbor Square redevelopment proposal,” was vague about when Port commissioners expressed their opinions on the issue.
The article said commissioners had aired their views at “recent” meetings.
“Recent,” of course, is a relative term. When my dentist asks me when I last flossed, and I say, “Recently” rather than “This morning,” he knows it probably wasn’t really very recent.
My dentist won’t let me get away with that, and my readers shouldn’t, either. I should have told readers exactly when the Port commissioners discussed the issue.
I cited their comments from three Port meetings: May 28, June 10, and June 24.
