City recommends supporting local businesses and shopping in Edmonds
And soon, just in case the Mayans are right! The city of Edmonds is partnering with Destination Marketing, a northwest advertising agency, to promote holiday shopping in Edmonds, but with an unusual twist.
There are lots of reasons to stay close to home and shop in Edmonds, which offers hundreds of stores, galleries and shops and over 100 restaurants.
Add to that the downtown holiday lights, the beauty of the waterfront, the famous central fountain, the unique boutiques, international shops, and more… and you can see that Edmonds offers practically everything.
That’s why it’s more important than ever to explore, shop and play in Edmonds, and soon, just in case the Mayans are right.
To further promote the Edmonds experience, Destination Marketing is sponsoring a “Just in case the Mayans are right” contest, where anyone could win an Edmonds Shopping Spree.
Entries will be accepted through December 17 and then, winners will be selected for a $300 Edmonds shopping spree, a $200 Edmonds shopping spree, a $100 Edmonds shopping spree and $100 worth of locally roasted coffee.
A special website has been sent up to accept entries.
It has an appropriate address: www.BetterShopEdmondsSoon.com.
Destination Marketing’s involvement springs out of owner Dan Voetmann’s support for the Edmonds business community.
Voetmann is not only an Edmonds resident, you’ll find him singing and playing his guitar/banjo/ukulele/harmonica every month at the ‘Third Thursday Art Walk’ just south of the fountain.
If you have any questions about Edmonds or the contest, please contact Stephen Clifton, Community Services & Economic Development Director, at 425-775-7724 or by email at Stephen.Clifton@Edmondswa.gov… and do it soon.
