Bothell teen serves as Senate page
Amanda Bailey served last week as a page in the Washington State Senate in Olympia.
Bailey was sponsored by Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe, D-Bothell. “Seeing pages like Amanda who are engaged and interested in politics shows that our future is in good hands,” McAuliffe said.
Amanda heard about the program from some friends who had done it before. “Two of my best friends also signed up to do it this week,” said Bailey. “It was fun to be pages together.”
“I’m really sad to go home actually,” lamented Amanda, who would like to do an internship at the Capitol in the future. Amanda is a homeschooler from Bothell and plans on becoming an economist. She is very devoted to her debate club and has an array of hobbies that include photography and knitting.
