Dear mayor, citizens and fellow merchants:

I would like to state that we here at Reliable Floor Coverings are very happy with the progress of the Main street project, and think that everything is moving along nicely.

We have had no adverse effects with our traffic flow and our customers are understanding and excited.

I have heard the grumblings from other merchants and I have total empathy for them. I know our business is different than theirs, as is our customer base.

Being in the construction business, we see and are part of a lot of projects.

I would like to state that this one is progressing very smoothly. It may appear to be moving slowly and be under-manned, but this is not the case.

There is an order to the way these things are done, and I believe the contractors are doing an exceptional job.

We knew going in that this would be two plus months of disturbance, and that there might be some costs and drawbacks to our business.

But at the same time, we were really excited about what the changes would do for our business and our lovely city.

I’m convinced that the suffering we are experiencing now will be forgotten when the increased and continuous benefits an enhanced Main street brings are realized.

In the meantime, everyone can make a conscious effort to patronize the shops and restaurants to help keep our city the wonderful place it is.
