A Ferrell kind of joke, bar none
What a difference one letter can make. It was the kind of joke a guy like, well, Will Ferrell would appreciate.
After the SNL alum was spotted in Edmonds on Saturday evening, rumors were flying this week that he had bought a bar in town.
Anya Bogachov, pictured above with Ferrell, was eating dinner at the Taki Tiki when she heard a buzz that Ferrell was next door dining at Epulo Bistro.
He next was reported heading for Jack Murphys, a local Irish pub. Anya, a junior at Edmonds Woodway High School, took off, hoping to get a photo with Ferrell.
Despite a bodyguard’s best efforts to protect his boss, Anya said Ferrell told him, “But I want a picture with that girl.”
“I was ecstatic!” she said.
She posted the picture on Instagram, a photo-sharing app, and within minutes dozens of teens showed up, trying to catch a glimpse of the actor.
Rumors continued over the next few days that Will Ferrell had bought an Irish bar in Edmonds.
Small correction: it was a beer, not a bar, that Will bought.
Still, as far as Anya was concerned, “It was by far one of the best nights in Edmonds yet.”
Seahawks fans, by the way, may have spotted Ferrell on the sidelines with local rapper sensation Macklemore during Sunday’s game.
A graduate of USC, Ferrell is a friend of Seahawks’ coach – and former USC football coach – Pete Carroll.
