Rachel Zeebuyth Locke Setchfield

Rachel died peacefully June 17, 2009 at 100 years, still playing rummy, working crossword puzzles and reading The Seattle Times.

She was born and raised in Quinault, Washington the daughter of two Washington Territory pioneer families.

A graduate of Bellingham Normal School and the University of Oregon, she taught in a one room schoolhouse in Quinault, then moved to Anchorage, Alaska.

In 1953 the family moved to Edmonds, Washington where she helped start the street flower program.

She was an active member of the Edmonds Arts Festival and a life member of the Floretum Garden club.

Rachel is survived by her daughters, Diane Glenn of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Linda Setchfield of Portland, Oregon; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
At her request there will be no services.

Memorial contributions in her honor may be given to The City of Edmonds Flower Program, Parks Trust Fund, 700 Main Street, Edmonds, WA 98020.
